UCLA Anderson Class of 2023 Essay Analysis

UCLA Anderson has released its new essay prompt for the 2020-21 application cycle, specifically highlighting events of this past year. 2020/21 essay questions Essay 1: How have events of the past year influenced the impact you would like to make in your community, career, or both? (250 words maximum) Optional question: Are there any extenuating circumstances in your profile about which the Admissions committee should be aware? (250 words maximum) 2020/21 essay question analysis Essay 1 Between COVID, social justice protests, changing economic fundamentals and other world events, this question acknowledges that applicants have a lot on their mind these days. Choose a topic you’re passionate about, and link it to your post-MBA goals. Given the tight word limit, avoid choosing more than one topic, as you won’t be able to sufficiently link multiple world events to your goal to differentiate yourself from other applicants or appear like you’re trying to “boil the ocean” by tackling an overly broad goal. Optional essay As with other schools, the optional question is available for you to explain any additional information that you may not have had the space to clarify in other parts of your application. 2020/21 deadlines Round 1: Application deadline: October 2, 2020, Decision date: December 18, 2020 Round 2: Application deadline: January 8, 2021, Decision date: March 26, 2021 Round 3: Application deadline: April 16, 2021*, Decision date: May 21, 2021 Other application details Click here for school interaction opportunities.
